International Manipuri Sahitya Sammelan held in Bangladesh

Kakching, December 22 2024: The 8th International Manipuri Sahitya Sammelan was organised by the Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sansad (BAMSAS) at the Sylhet Press Club on Saturday.

Presided over by BAMSAS president AK Seram, the inaugural function of the sammelan was attended by Nilima-SC Sinha Trust chairman senior advocate SC Sinha, Sylhet Press club general secretary Mahmad Sirajul Islam, BAMSAS general secretary Nambram Sankar, writers Khoirom Indrajit, Emamul Islam Rana and Suman Banik.

During the event, the 64th edition of BAMSAS' "Meira" and the poetry collection "Kabitai Tomake" by Ananta Kumar Nishi were released.

The Sonamani Memorial Award 2023 was presented to renowned writer Hamom Pramud, while the Nilima Sinha Memorial Award 2024 was conferred upon Langoljam Birmangal.

The event also featured a poem recitation session.
