Imphal, January 22 2022:
While denouncing alleged misuse of the JD-U flag by ex-minister Ningthoujam Bihari while joining BJP to support Khurai MLA Leishangthem Sushindro alias Yaima, Janata Dal (United) intending candidate in Khurai A/C Kh Khamba has said that such unruly act was done to smear the image of party.
Speaking to media persons at his Khurai Kongpal Leikai residence on Saturday, Khamba reminded that the said ex-minister was a member of JD (U) and was even a member of the party national council.
However, due to lack of contribution to the party, he was suspended from the national council on December 20 and subsequently submitted resignation letter on January 19.Stating that there is no harm when he joined BJP, Khamba contended that misusing the party's flag while joining BJP is disrespectful of the party.
It is unfortunate that such a senior politician indulged in such unruly behaviour and also made to hold the national party flag by simple people during the programme.
Maintaining that the ex-minister tried to tarnish the image of JD (U) state unit, he continued that JD (U) Khurai unit fully supports the initiative of taking up legal actions against him.
He did not inform JD (U) about joining BJP and his departure is not related with JD (U) Khurai unit.
The Khurai unit never surrenders to BJP, Khamba made it clear, while expressing hope that JD (U) will win in Khurai A/C .
