Thailand-Manipur study centres inaugurated

Manipur International University (MIU), Ghari inaugurated the 'Centre for Manipur-Thailand Cooperation Studies' and 'Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies', established in collaboration with Surindra Rajabhat University, Thailand, at Imphal Peace Museum, Maibam Lotpa Ching on Sunday.
The inaugural ceremony of the two centres set up to facilitate study and develop Manipur's language, socio-economy, culture and education was attended by Surindra Rajabhat University Council and Suan Dusit University Council chairman Dr Tanom Intarakumnerd as chief guest, MIU vice chancellor professor P Kumar Singh as president and Surindra Rajabhat University Council assistant chairman professor Dr Jamnong Junkhiew as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, MIU VC Prof PK Singh informed that MIU opened the centres as per the agreement between governments of India and Thailand to focus on collaboration between Thailand and Manipur in research works on diverse fields.
