Panel formed to monitor attendance in colleges

Imphal, July 20 2024:
Directorate of University and Higher Education (UHE), Government of Manipur has constituted a new committee to oversee and monitor the attendance of students and staff, as well as the conduct of daily assemblies, in both government and government-aided colleges across the state.
According to an order issued by UHE director Dr Rangitabali Waikhom in this regard on Friday, the committee will be led by Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, and additional director (UHE) P Shantikumar is the convener.
Other members included senior AO (UHE) Huidrom Sofia Devi, OSD (UHE) S Nandakumar Singh, OSD (UHE) Th Premchand Singh, OSD (UHE) Dr H Jibonkumar Singh, OSD (UHE) Dr N Ajith Singh, and legal officer L Ibotombi Singh.
Huidrom Sofia and L Ibotombi will oversee colleges in Imphal East, Thoubal, Senapati, and Ukhrul districts; Nandakumar and Dr H Jibonkumar will oversee colleges in Imphal West, Kakching, Tamenglong and Noney districts.
Dr H Jibonkumar and Dr N Ajith will focus on colleges in Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Chandel, Tengnoupal, and Kangpokpi districts.
These officials will visit their respective colleges regularly to ensure proper attendance and conduct of assemblies, and submit weekly reports to the director.
The principals of the colleges will provide the required reports to the officials concerned.
The committee will also conduct random visits to colleges and will meet bi-monthly to assess the collected reports.
These meetings will take place in the middle and at the end of each month, culminating in a comprehensive monthly report submitted to the government.
