AR distributes computers, foils smuggling bid

Imphal, January 19 2022:
Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (South) distributed computers at Yumnam Patlou village in Imphal East district on Tuesday as part of Op Sadbhavna project.
Three computers along with printer and all accessories were handed over to the village authorities, informed a PRO IGAR (S) release.
In another release, the PRO informed that troops of Tengnoupal Battalion Assam Rifles foiled smuggling of illegal cash and contrabands in Khudengthabi and Kwatha villages in Tengnoupal district qn Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
During routine checking at Khudengthabi Permanant Vehicle Check Post, an individual travelling in a van was apprehended by troops of Assam Rifles with illegal cash of Rs 20.09 lakh on Tuesday, the release informed, adding that in another operation on Wednesday, AR troops uncovered a large of packages concealed in thick foliage in forest.
On thorough search of the packages, illegal goods including liquor, cosmetic items and cigarettes worth Rs 10.26 lakh were recovered.
The recovered items and cash along with driver and vehicle have been handed over to Moreh police and Customs Prevention Force, Pallel for further legal action, it added.
Meanwhile, Jwalamukhi Battalion of Assam Rifles of IGAR (East) under Spear Corps provided emergency medical help to two road accident victims on January.
In a release, PRO (DW) informed that two individuals on bike met with an accident on NH-2 near Battalion Headquarters main gate.
Immediately, they were brought to the Battalion's Hospital and given necessary first aid and treated for their injuries by the doctor.
They were further kept under observation after the treatment and discharged them when their condition was stabilised.
Both the patients and their family members thanked the Jwalamukhi Battalion for saving their lives.
