JCILPS Jiri convenor among 3 dead in accident

Jiribam, January 18 2022:
Three people, including the convenor of JCILPS Jiribam branch got drowned after the car they were travelling in fell into a pond at Kalingar, Jiribam near Bhagabati Brick farm on Monday night.
The deceased have been identified as Yurembam Sanjiv Singh, (30) son of Y Romeo Singh of Lamtaikhunou but residing at Kalin-agar Part-3, Thongatabam Saratchandra Sharma alias Naoba (48) son of Th Joygopal Sharma of Kalinagar Part 1 and Loutongbam Anil Singh, (45) son of late L Irabot singh of Kalinagar 3.According to report, the vehicle (AS 11F 0736) was spotting nearly submerged in the pond by some morning joggers.
When the vehicle was pulled out using a crane, the lifeless bodies of three people were found inside.
Later, the bodies were sent for post-mortem examination to Jiribam Hospital and Jiribam police has taken up a case in this regard.
Meanwhile, several organisations and Jiribam A/C MLA have deeply mourned the untimely demise of Y Sanjiv, who had been working as JCILPS Jiribam Branch committee convenor and as Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA), Jiribam District Committee secretary organisation.
He was also the ex-president of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Jiribam District Committee and ex-joint secretary of Jiri Development Organisation (JDO), Jiribam MLA Md Ashab Uddin, in a condolence message, mourned the demise of Y Sanjiv and the other two in the unfortunate incident.
"The untimely demise of Y Sanjiv Singh is an irreparable loss to the people of Jiribam", he lamented.
In separate releases, Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) and CADA also mourned the demise of Y Sanjiv.
A two minutes' silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
The two organisations also shared pain and grief of the bereaved family.
