Awareness programme on cluster facilitation project conducted

Chandel, May 17 2022: An awareness programme on Cluster Facilitation Project under MGNREGS for village authorities of Chandel was held at Indoor Stadium Chandel on Tuesday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the programme, NRM (CFO) state project officer Okram Basudev explained that Cluster Facilitation Projects are being implemented as a part of Aspirational District Programme in 117 districts and 250 blocks all over the country.

Chandel being the only aspirational district in the state, two blocks out of four namely Chakpikarong and Chandel block were selected for the Cluster Facilitation Projects (CFP).

"The main objective of this project is to minimise the hindrances faced during the planning of labour budgets for sustainable development.

It aims to have a sustainable and GIS integrated planning in future by following all the parameters of government guidelines.

Cluster Facilitation Project (CFP) is targeted at specific blocks ana will expand to all the other blocks in future," he said.

Basudev also informed that the awareness programme for Chandel Block is being held for the village authorities, chairmen, village chiefs, secretaries, etc., while block and district level awareness programme will be held after the completion of these programmes.

The function was attended by MGNREGS project officer L Stephen Modar, CFP Livelihood state project officer Tab Khan, CFP GIS state project officer Vickyson Naorem, other officials and experts and all the village authorities, chairmen, village chiefs, secretaries of different villages of Chandel Block.
