Stop Diarrhoea campaign launched in Thoubal

Thoubal, July 15 2024:
The Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) held as part of the National Stop Diarrhoea Campaign - 2024 to be conducted till August 31 under the theme "Zero child deaths due to childhood diarrhoea", was launched in Thoubal district by DC Ahanthem Subash on Monday.
The launch event of the Campaign being organised by District Health Society (DHS) Thoubal, was held at the NHM conference hall of Thoubal CMO office complex in the presence of by DC Subash, who is also the DHS Thoubal chairman, DHS Thoubal Mission Director and Thoubal District Hospital CMO Dr Y Nokul and District Hospital medical superintendent Dr W Ruhinikumar.
Speaking at the event, Subash called upon anganwadi and ASHA workers of the district to play a pivotal role in making the campaign, which aims to prevent childhood deaths due to diarrhoea, a grand success.
Additionally, all need to Collectively work to achieve its goal, he stressed.
The DC also highlighted the importance of informing parents about the disease to prevent it and urged everyone involved to ensure that the medicines provided by the government reach those in need rather than being left unused in hospitals.
The chief guest distributed 28,000 packets of ORS and zinc supplements for children under five years old in Thoubal district.
He instructed all relevant parties to establish ORS and zinc corners in every hospital.
The event was attended by representatives from various hospitals in Thoubal, medical officers from healthcare centres, and ASHA and an-ganwadi workers.
