IIIT Manipur Team triumphs at SIH 2024

Imphal, December 14 2024:
Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Manipur's Typewriter II Team (Team Name) has secured victory in the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) organised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) at IIT, Gandhinagarm, Gujarat on December 11-12, by winning Rs 1 lakh cash prize.
In a release, HIT, Manipur registrar in-charge Dr Nongmeikapam Kishorjit Singh informed that Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative that fosters innovation and problem-solving skills among students.
Competing against numerous talented teams from across the country, the Typewriter-II Team's ingenuity and dedication shone through as they tackled complex challenges and developed innovative solutions.
Out of the total 162 submission, five were selected for the grand finale including team Typewriter-II under 'Problem Statement SIH1608', aspiring to contribute to our nation's progress, it stated.
The release continued that IIIT, Manipur director professor Krishan Baskar expressed immense pride and joy over the team's achievement.
"The success of the Typewriter-II Team at the SIH 2024 is a testament to their hard work, creativity, and determination.
It also highlights the exceptional talent nurtured at IIIT, Manipur.
IIITM are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and look forward to their future endeavours," he said.
Professor Krishnan Baskar also congratulated Harsh Kumar Das, the team leader of team Typewriters-II, along with his talented team members Balkishan Bajpay, Chirag Goyal, Vikram, Mahi Chhawchharia and Divyansh Gupta on this incredible journey.
He also congratulated the other two teams of IIITM in other themes who were also the finalist in the grand finale, it further informed.
