Sit-in protest held over death of K Sunder

A mass sit-in protest was organised at Toubul Bazar on Saturday demanding investigation into the death of one Konsam Sunder Singh (36), whose body was found in the fish farm belonging to one Yumlembam Momon Singh of Toubul Awang Leikal on August 12.During the sit-in organised by 'JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Sunder Konsam', the participants raised slogans and put up placards demanding justice.
It was also attended by Toubul Gram Panchayat pradhan 1h Nanaobi Devi, AMUCO former president Y Mani Khuman and Toubul Meira Paibi Lup chairperson N Moithap Devi.
Speaking at the protest venue, JAC convener Th Bira contended that death of K Sunder is very suspicious, and as such the department concerned and government must find out the culprits and punish them as per law of the land.
If the police and the government do not apprehend the 'perpetrators' within by August 20, public of Toubul would launch intense agitation against the government, he cautioned.
Sunder's mother said that he was a daily wager who was looking after his two small children.
Why has anyone killed him, what was his crime, she questioned, while appealing to people of Toubul to help in finding the killer of her son.
It can be mentioned that Bishnupur Police has registered a case in connection with the death and is awaiting post mortem report.
