Though the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic has spread far and wide across the state, there are still some villages, even in the valley areas of the state, which have not been affected by the contagion till date.
Yairipok Laimanai in Imphal East district, the second most affected district in the state, is one such village, which has been successful so far in keeping the virus out of the village.
Located under Andro assembly constituency, not a single positive case has been reported in the village so far, informed Laimanai Youth Club Yairipok (LYCY) president Th Ito.
On Thursday, a mass testing programme was conducted at Laimanai Multipurpose hall and no positive case was detected.
District medical team of Imphal East organised the mass testing programme in coordination with LYCY and its Covid Task Force.
Tulihal ZP member Kongbam Inaomacha, who played a major role in organising the testing programme, provided face masks, hand sanitisers and other protective gears to the local Covid Task Force.
