AR holds awareness lecture, cleanliness drive, medical camps

Assam Rifles conducted an awareness lecture in Old Samtal village, Chandel district to educate and inspire the local youth about the career opportunities available in the AR.
During the session, comprehensive information was shared regarding the recruitment process, including eligibility criteria, educational qualifications, physical fitness requirements, and the various stages of selection.
A total of 32 local youth attended the lecture, demonstrating their enthusiasm and interest in exploring a career with the AR, according to a PRO IGAR (S) release.
The PRO also informed that Assam Rifles conducted Swachhata Abhiyan (cleanliness drive) as part of Swachhata Pakhwada in collaboration with the local community of Sajik Tampak, Chandel district on Monday.
AR personnel and Sajik Tampak residents cleaned .public spaces, roads, marketplaces, and other community areas in order to maintain cleanliness as well as spread awareness about hygiene, waste management, and environmental conservation.
Meanwhile, to uplift the women by providing them skill enhancement equipment the women's society of Suangdai village, Churachandpur district was provided with 18 sewing machines, the PRO said in another release.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles organised a series of mega medical camps at Kamjong town, Chassad village and Maokot village of Kamjong district, as part of its civic action programme.
The camps conducted from December 7 to 9 brought critical healthcare services and medicine distribution to remote communities along the sensitive Indo-Myanmar border.
The camps conducted in collaboration with civil medical authorities of Kamjong district had four specialist doctors, including specialists in dentistry, gynaecology, surgery, and general medicine.
The initiative catered to approximately 710 residents from Kamjong town, Maokot, Chassad, and nearby villages including Chattrik Khullen, Chahong Khunou, Gampal, Shampui, Ningthi, Pihang, Bungpa Khullen and Skipe.
