Many condemn bomb attack on AMSU office

Imphal, June 10 2021: Many organisations condemned the bomb attack on All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) office located inside DM University campus on June 8 .

In separate releases, Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup, United Peoples' Front (UPF), NIMPAL, Shillong Manipuri Students' Union (SMSU), All Manipur Women's Social Reformation & Development Samaj, United People's Administrative Council, Manipur College Students' Union and All Assam Manipuri Students' Union (AAMSU) strongly condemned the bomb attack on Manipur's oldest student union office by unidentified miscreants.

In separate releases, these organisations highlighted that AMSU has been at the forefront of taking up several issues in the state like development of education sector, fighting against violation of human rights, demanding ILP and protection on territorial integrity of Manipur among others.

So, the bomb attack on AMSU office is an act to silence the voice of the student union.

Such act should not be repeated in the future, they added.

The organisations also demanded the government to arrest the culprits and award befitting punishment.
