Imphal, December 09 2024:
In response to a press statement regarding the monolith of Naga tribe of Chandel and Tengnoupal district issued by Kuki Inpi vice-president Rt Akhel, the Aimol Tribe Union (ATUM) has strongly condemned the unauthorised and inappropriate use of the ATUM letterhead, modified with a Kukiland flag symbol, incorrect Pincode, and logo.
ATUM, in a statement, informed that it takes the matter seriously and will take strict action against those responsible.
The statement clarified that Rt Akhel is a self-styled individual currently working under Kuki Inpi, and does not represent the whole Aimol Tribe.
He has no association with the Aimol people, as the tribe has boycotted him.
ATUM pointed out that such press statements only spread harmful ideologies and that they cannot legitimise unethical acts, including misusing the names of tribes for personal gain and benefits.
The Union conveyed its strong opposition to such actions, which harm its reputation and the well-being of their community.
The statement further appealed to every right-thinking citizen not to entertain or promote fake statements until it is verified by the organisation concerned.
ATOM made it clear that it will pot tolerate Rt Akhel's malicious intent and will take up appropriate action against him.
Moreover, the Union asserted that it will not entertain any appeal from his family or any organisation during the course of this action, and he should bear full responsibility for his misadventures.
The union reiterated its commitment to protecting the identity and interests of the Aimol Naga community and pledged to uphold the dignity of their tribe.
