Meetei house bombed in Jiribam

Jiribam, September 09 2024:
In yet another attack by suspected Kuki militants, a Meetei house was bombarded and destroyed in Jiribam district on Sunday night.
The incident took place around 9pm at Modhupur under Borobekra sub-division of Jiribam district.
The house belonged to one Haobijam Surchandra (60) s/o late H Manisana.
Local sources said that a loud explosion was heard, and the next day, it was discovered that the militants used bombs to destroy the backyard structure and broke into the main house, causing widespread damage and scattering belongings.
The residents of Modhupur, who have taken refuge in relief camps, are facing such vandalism on their houses as the militants are exploiting their absence.
A report has been hied with the police regarding the destruction.
