Two PTC members arrested

Two members of the People's Tribunal Centre (PTC) including Yambem Laba has been arrested and subsequently remanded to three days in police custody.
Yambem Laba (69), son of late Tombi of Uripok Yambem Leikai, and Khuraijam Dhanabir alias Toni Khanganba (59) of Sagolband Tera Amudon Leirak were arrested late Monday evening.
Police also recovered a licence gun (9mm pistol) registered in the name of Yambem Laba.
Both the arrested PTC members were produced before a court on Tuesday and the court granted remand plea of police.
As per submission of IO of the case to the court, PTC deals with settling of disputes relating to money borrowing and land at its office opened at Yambem Laba's residence.
Complainant of the case was summoned by PTC at its office on October 7 and accordingly went there at about 10.30 am the same day.
However, Toni took Yambem Laba's licence gun and pointed at forehead of the complainant and threatened to shoot if the borrowed money was not repaid, the IO mentioned before the court and prayed for seven days police custody of both the PTC members.
Based on the report of the IO, the court remanded Laba and Toni to three days police custody for further questioning.
