Minister Biswajit warns encroachers

Imphal, June 08 2022: Power, forest and environment minister Thongam Biswajit issued a warning on Wednesday around 8am to all the 40 households which are encroaching on the Leimakhong electricity complex, to leave the premises at the earliest.

On receiving reliable information about the encroachment, minister Biswajit accompanied by Imphal West DC, Kangpokpi DC, SPs of the two districts and MPS DCL officials visited the complex.

During the inspection, the chief and villagers of the nearby Ansiphai village produced land records and maps.

After studying the documents, the minister warned the encroachers to vacate the premises at the earliest or face eviction in accordance with the law.

It may be mentioned here that several houses, which were illegally constructed within the prernises, were demolished in 2021 as well.
