Women cops lead bike rally on BBBP

Kangpokpi, February 08 2025: In celebration of a decade of progress in girl child empowerment, Kangpokpi district administration and ICDS Cell, Kangpokpi district programme officer jointly organised a bike rally in Kangpokpi district headquarters on Saturday.

This initiative was part of a series of awareness programmes organised across the district to mark the 10th anniversary of the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' (BBBP) campaign, a national movement aimed at addressing gender disparity, female education, and child welfare.

The rally, which began at the SP Kangpokpi office in uptown Kangpokpi and culminated at the Kangpokpi police station in downtown Kangpokpi, was led by women police officers from Kangpokpi Police, alongside key women officials from ICDS Project, Kangpokpi, including Boishi Haokip, Chongboi Kipgen, Mawinu Gangte, and Lamhen Hangshing.

Their participation sent a strong message of women's leadership and empowerment, inspiring the local community fo actively support the education and protection of girls.

The bike rally carried banners with slogans such as 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao - Save Girl Child, Educate Girl Child, echoing the urgent need for equal opportunities, education, and protection for girls across the country.

The event was flagged off by Kangpokpi AC to DC/SDO Lhungtin, Samuel Misao, in the presence of SDC Kangpokpi, Lhunkhopao Touthang.

The rally saw overwhelming support from the local community, with residents gathering along the route to witness and cheer the women-led initiative.
