UCM conducts farmers' training / COVID-19 awareness prog

Continuing its series of farmers' training cum COVID-19 awareness programme, United Committee Manipur (UCM) organised yet another programme on Tuesday at Pungdongbam in coordination with Pungdongbam Youth Physical Club.
The programme was attended by ex-pradhan of Pungdongbam-Sekta GP Irungbam Prem as chief guest, UCM president Joychandra Konthoujam as president and Pungdongbam Khun Youth Development Committee secretary Athokpam Munan as guest of honour.
ATMA Imphal East assistant technology & manager Birjit Yanglem and T Deepu and deputy director (AYUSH) Dr S Biswanath Sharma were also present as resource persons of the programme.
While T Deepu made the farmers aware about plant diseases, timely application of fertilizers in paddy fields and ways to prevent, pest infestation on paddy plants, Dr S Biswanath talked about precautions to be taken up to prevent spread of COVID-19 and effective of AYUSH medication.
During the programme, UCM president Joychandra said that promotion of farmers is very important for bringing a self reliant society where everyone loves each other with surplus food production and enhanced economy.
During the programme, UCM distributed 50 bags of urea, AYUSH medicines, saplings of medicinal plants and winter crop seeds to farmers.
