Training on emergency response begins

Imphal, November 06 2024:
A four-day training programme on emergency response capacity-building training for volunteers, organised by Indian Red Cross Society (National Headquarters) and supported by International Committee of Red Cross, New Delhi, began on Wednesday at the MG Avenue conference Hall of Indian Cross Society Manipur State Branch, Imphal.
On the first day, resource person Parak Borkar, movement cooperation coordinator for ICRC's Regional Delegation for India, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives, spoke on key topics including the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, its emblems, and fundamental principles; IRCS's structure and key activities; rapid assessment in emergencies; search and rescue during disaster; and distribution of relief materials.
Over 20 volunteers from various parts of the state are participating in the training, which is coordinated by A Nabachandra, state secretary Indian Red Cross Society's Manipur State Branch.
