Citizens' Association for Rural Development (CARD), Wabagai has urged chief minister N Biren to include 752 street vendors of Wabagai area in the Chief Minister Covid-19 Affected Livelihood Support Scheme.
In a release, CARD secretary M Manishwar Khuman stated that the Scheme's eligibility criteria for street vendors mentions that document required for submission include street vendor card /list of municipalities or district councils, but the 752 street vendors of Wabagai Lamkhai Bazar including 350 who possess cards issued by Road Side Street Vendors' Association, Khwairamband Bazar and 402 having cards issued by the Women Vendor Wabagai Lamkhai Bazar Board cannot apply as the area is not enclosed under any municipality.
As such, the government needs to either amend the cri teria to entertain the 752 street vendors from Wabagai or enlist the said areas under the nearest municipal council to make the CM Covid-19 Affected Livelihood Support Scheme meaningful, it added.
