48 aspiring candidates from Ukhrul, LM, Chingai file nomination papers

Ukhrul, May 06 2015 : A total of 48 aspiring political party candidates and independent candidates from Ukhrul Centre, Longchong Maiphai and Chingai Council Constituencies have filed their nomination papers for the upcoming Autonomous District Council (ADC) elections in Ukhrul district while the details of filing of nominations conducted at respective constituencies of Jessami, Phungyar, Kasom Khullen, Kamjong and Chatrict in the district are awaiting.

According to information culled from the SDO, Ukhrul, out of a total of 35 candidates who have filed their nomination papers from Ukhrul Centre and Longchong Maiphai, 12 are NPF candidates, 9 independents, 8 BJP and 6 INC.

The District Council Constituencies under Ukhrul Centre ans Longchong Maiphai included 6-Tolloi, 7-Kachai, 8-Somdal, 9-Ukhrul North, 10-Ukhrul South, 11-Khamasom, 12-Choithar, 13-Shangshak, 14-Tuinem, 15-Tongou and 16-Zalengbung respectively.

Meanwhile, Chingai Constituency has recorded a total of 4 Independents, 3 NPF candidates, 3 BJP candidates and 3 INC candidates from 3-Chingai, 5- Huining and 4-Nungbi constituencies.
