Assam Rifles celebrates 'Ningol Chakkouba'

Assam Rifles joined hands with the communities of Thoubal, Imphal West, and Kakching districts to celebrate 'Ningol Chakkouba' festival, symbolising the deep bonds of family and community.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that in AR locations at Chandrakhong and Singjamei, AR personnel gathered with around 100 local residents, exchanging gifts and warm wishes in honour of this tradition.
In Kakching, AR celebrated the festival with students and residents of the relief camp at Langmeidong village.
The event included lively cultural performances, with traditional dance, songs and instrumental music by students from Kakching.
Personnel from AR also interacted with internally displaced persons (IDPs) at the Langmeidong relief camp, distributing essential items to women and children, adding warmth to their festival time, it said, while adding that the celebration, organised with the cooperation of local schools and relief camp authorities, highlighted Manipur's rich cultural heritage and emphasised AR's ongoing efforts to strengthen unity and trust within the community.
The release further informed that the festivities was participated by approximately 180 attendees at Langmeidong and 130 students in Kakching.
