IBSD hosts curtain raiser ceremony for ISE SFEC

Institute of Bio-re-sources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) organised a curtain raiser event on Wednesday for the upcoming International Bioresource Conclave, 22nd Congress of International Society for Ethnopharmacology and the 10th Congress of Society for Ethnopharmacology (ISE SFEC-2023) which will be held at City Convention Centre, here from February 24 to 26 .
During the programme, IBSD Imphal director Prof Pulok K Mukherjee highlighted various initiatives of IBSD for the development of bioresources of this region for societal benefit and livelihood generation.
He also mentioned about the upcoming International Bioresource Conclave and Ethnopharmacology Congress being organised by IBSD in collaboration with SFE India and ISE Switzerland.
Prof Pulok said it will be for the first time that such event would held at Imphal and also in NER to showcase different initiatives for promotion of bioresources.
This congress will witness gala scientific deliberations by experts from diverse fields across the world, he added.
As chief guest of the curtain raiser event, Department of Science & Technology commissioner M Yaiskul Meitei appreciated the activities of IBSD for the development of local bioresources of NER.
During the programme, Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA) special advisor A Jayakumar also appreciated the initiative of IBSD for organising ISE SFEC-2023 in this part of the country where scientists from 40 countries would be joining the mega event.
Many eminent speakers including Manipur Science & Technology Council, Imphal director Dr L Minaketan Singh and Society for Ethnopharmacology, Kolkata secretary Dr Subhash C Mandal appreciated the efforts of Prof Pulok and team of IBSD for organising the mega event at Imphal.
The event will provide an environment for knowledge sharing among researchers, policymakers, industry persons, healthcare practitioners, and decision-makers interested in the promotion of bioresources, Ethnopharmacology and drug discovery.
The ceremony was attended by many scientists, research scholars of IBSD, Imphal and others.
