Imphal, June 30 2022: Under the auspices of Directorate of Economics and Statistics (DES), District Statistical Office (DSO), Bishnupur observed the 16th National Statistics Day 2022 on the theme 'Data for Sustainable Development' at its office in Bishnupur district on Wednesday.

In a press communique, DSO Bishnupur conveyed that the programme was marked by staffers paying floral tributes to the portrait of Prof Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, the father of modern statistics in India.

On the occasion, the DES also released three books namely, Statistical Year Book of Bishnupur District Manipur-2021; Socio Economic Survey, Bishnupur District 2020-2021 and Report of Registered Business Establishment, Bishnupur District Manipur, 2021-2022 Volume I, II & III, it added.

It further conveyed that district statistical officer RK Jyotsana Devi in the presence of DES director Peijonna Kamei also thanked and appreciated the staff involved inthe publication of the three books.
