Imphal, December 31 2021:
While urging youth and CSOs to play major role in making the election free and fair, titular king and Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba has called for participation of youth in politics so as to bring positive changes in the political scenario of the state.
Sanajaoba inaugurated two 100-bed-ded hostels for SC and ST students along with an indoor basketball hall of National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIFT), Akampat, Imphal on Friday.

Just getting membership of a political party does not mean participation in politics.

Election is a democratic process but an ugly trend of spending crores of money is taking centre stage today in the state.
The first step of eradicating corruption should begin from election by ensuring it to be free and fair event, he said, while urging all not to take the election lightly.
Around 50 per cent of the country's population are youth and the Modi government strongly believes that utilising this potential effectively could bring positive changes in the country.
On this line, the Central government is taking up various welfare programmes for youth with the objective to guide them and bring out their latent talents through skill development initiatives.
It is good to know that the institute has so far provided job placement to more than 50,000 youths, he said.
Construction of the two hostels and indoor basketball hall has been funded by North Eastern Council with TPCL Valley-2 as the implementing agency.
