Imphal, December 01:
Even though the State Assembly had passed four resolutions to oppose the extension of the NSCN (IM) cease fire to the soil of Manipur it is still not clear whether the resolutions were submitted to the Centre or not.
This came to light during the final hearing of the Upendra Commission probing into the June 18 and July 20 incidents.
According to a statement given by an official of the Assembly Secretariat, the copies of the resolutions were sent to the authorities of the State Civil Secretariat as per rules.
The authorities of the State Secretariat may submit a report on the matter on December 5 before the Commission, said sources.
Meanwhile the counsel on behalf of UCM L Nandakumar gave his final argument before the Commission today.
He put forward the chronological events leading to the agreement between the Centre and the NSCN (IM) in extending the cease fire without territorial limits and the subsequent incidents on June 18 and July 20.
