Imphal, November 29 2024:
Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan has said that restoring normalcy in Manipur won't be possible unless there is a sense of unity among the Meeteis.
He made the statement at the silver jubilee celebration of Ima Nongo Leima Community Hall held today.
Speaking as the chief guest, Joykisan continued that the role of Meeteis, being the major community, is immense to build confidence among the people and take Manipur to the path of peace.
The Government has been working round the clock to restore normalcy in Manipur, he added.
Saying that a true leader is someone who can unite the people, the MLA added that politicising the issue in Manipur will only throw the State into deeper turmoil.
Doing politics at the cost of the people should not be the way, he said and added that a collective effort must be put in to bring about communal harmony in Manipur.
The MLA, meanwhile, said that he is consulting with the relevant authorities to repair the road and drain infrastructure in Thangmeiband.
The programme was also attended by former Vice Chancellor of CAU, Imphal Moirangthem Premjit and Deputy Director of Manipur Aids Control Society Dr Deepali Nameirakpam among others.
