Archival awareness cum lecture held at Chandel

One should take responsibility in the preservation of one's own identity, culture, tradition and heritage, said Dr K Sushila, Deputy Director of Manipur State Archives.
Dr Sushila was speaking as the chief guest at the Archival Awareness cum Lecture programme held on March 27 at Lambung Youth Community Hall, Chandel Headquarters.
The programme was organised by the Manipur State Archives, Government of Manipur in collaboration with Lambung Youth Cultural Development Organisation, Chandel.
Dr Sushila said that the history of a tribe or community could be traced with the clothing items.
She urged the Anal community to preserve their culture, and tradition in the archives for posterity.
The programme was attended by BD Thumdang, Chairman of Anallon Chiefs' Association and St Romel, President of LYCC as the president and guest of honour respectively.
Presentation of cultural items like dance and song marked the programme.
Antiquities of the Anal tribe since time immemorial were also exhibited during the programme.
The resource persons included PS Shylo Anal, RD Kanthung, Vice Pincipal of United College, Lambung and N Indramani, Senior Scholar, Manipur State Archives.
