Imphal, January 29 2015 : A man was killed while his wife sustained injuries in a motor accident near Kuki Mun village under Loktak PS in Churachandpur district yesterday.

A source said that one Lalkhuol (58) s/o (L) Lunkai of Kuki Mun village in Churachandpur district died in a motor accident yesterday around 4 pm.

Wife of the deceased, identified as Nemchong (43) suffered injuries in the accident and is undergoing treatment at Shija Hospital.

The couple was travelling in a Maruti 800 car towards the village from Loktak side when their vehicle fell into a deep gorge near Kuki Mun village yesterday.

They were rushed to Imphal for treatment.

The husband succumbed to injury on the way to the hospital, the source said.

The body was handed over to family members after post mortem examination at RIMS today.
