State security forces revamp roads in Ukhrul

Additional State security forces deployed in Ukhrul town today repaired a road near a women market shed located at Phungreitang.
They revamped a road near Gandhi Chowk on July 15 as well.
Additional State security forces comprising of police commandos from Thoubal, Bishnupur, Imphal West and Imphal East districts and IRB personnel are being deployed in Ukhrul town since July 13 under the command of DIG Chandramani in the aftermath of assassination of former Ukhrul ADC Vice-Chairman Ngalangzar Malue at Finch Corner of the district.
They busted an NSCN (IM) camp in the town and arrested eight NSCN (IM) cadres and also seized arms and ammunition, wireless sets, computer sets and incriminating documents on July 13 .

On the otherhand, denizens of Ukhrul town and various Naga organisations have been demanding revocation of 144 CrPC and withdrawal of additional State security forces from Ukhrul town.
In this regard, UNC had imposed a 24-hour bandh on July 16 and a 48- hours bandh on July 25 and 26 in Naga areas of the State.
The State Government has been vindicating deployment of additional security forces for thwarting possible disruptive activites and restoration of public tranquillity.
