NCSN K denies involvement

Imphal, November 27 2013:
A cadre of Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) who sustained injury in a gunfight with rival NSCN-IM cadres yesterday at Nagaching in Tamenglong district has been brought to Imphal for treatment.
It has also been confirmed from sources that no live was lost in yesterday's gunfight in Tamenglong district.
Meanwhile, GPRN/NSCN-K has denied involvement of its cadres in the shot-out that took place at Nagaching yesterday.
Dismissing the news report that said that cadres of the NSCN-K were involved in the encounter, the publicity wing of the NSCN-K said the outfit would not remain a silent spectator if the current trend continues.
It urged both the warring outfits to retreat to their own area.
It further appealed the armed groups operating in Tamenglong to shun all sorts of fraternal killing especially taking into consideration the approaching festivals like Orange festival, Christmas and New year.
Police source identified the injured ZUF cadre as Malokpou Gangmei (25) s/o Champoulung of Maheinamchi of Nagaland's Jalukie district.
He sustained bullet wound at the chest and is admitted to SHRI, Langol for treatment.
It may be mentioned that around 100 cadres of the NSCN-IM launched an offensive against the ZUF cadres yesterday around 1.30pm at at Nagaching, three kilometres away from Lukhumbi (near Noney) in Tamenglong district.
The encounter lasted till around 2.30pm.The injured cadre was taken to Lukhumbi Part-I yesterday itself.
Contrary to reports, sources confirmed that there was no death in the incident.
It may be recalled that three ZUF cadres were killed in an encounter with NSCN-IM at Bhalok village in Tamenglong district on Nov 12 .
