Grenade attack injures four

At least four persons sustained injuries when a hand grenade exploded inside Angels Digital Media Service, a video editing studio located at Uripok at about 7 pm today.
According to information culled from the spot, all the four injured victims were inside the studio when the hand grenade lobbed by some unidentified persons exploded.
The injured victims have been identified as studio proprietor Yambem Birla alias Subash, (41) s/o Pishak of Uripok Khoisnam Leikai, Potsangbam Gunindro (32) s/o Akendra, Maibam Bikash (28) s/o Manikumar of Kha-gempalli and Takhellambam Ibomcha (28) s/o late Ibocha of Uripok Achom Leikai.
All the four were rushed to RIMS and their conditions were said to be out of danger.
Later, Imphal West Additional SP (Law & Order) Dr Sarangthem Ibomcha and Additional SP (Ops) Th Vi-kramjit came and inspected the blast site.
The blast also damaged the studio's window panes and other articles.
Next to the video studio is the Omega Diagnostic Centre.
Speaking to media persons at RIMS, wounded Birla said that there was no case of any intimidation or monetary demands from any UG group.
Moments before the blast, some noises were heard outside the studio.
Then all the people who were present inside the studio ran out as a heavy object landed.
Police have launched investigation into the grenade attack after registration of a case at Imphal police station.
