Huge cache of arms and ammo recovered

Imphal, March 26 2025:
A number of arms and ammunition were recovered during a search operation carried out by a combined team of Imphal East commandos and 5/9 GR at NP Khullen village and adjoining areas, Imphal East district this morning.
In the course of the search operation, the combined team recovered a cache of arms and ammunition about 1 Km away from NP Khullen.

The recovered arms and ammunition included two AK rifles along with magazines, one SLR with magazine, one carbine, five hand grenades, seven tube launching, five Baofeng radio sets, 30 live ammunition of AK rifle, 20 live ammunition of INSAS rifle, 15 live ammunition of .303 rifle, 50 live ammunition of carbine, five live ammunition of 9 mm, four magazines of INSAS rifle, two magazines of carbine, one live ammunition of A1 rifle, one magazine of SLR, one LMG Magazine, six bullet proof helmets, two bullet proof plates, three radio set chargers, two detonators, two AK rifle bayonets, two lethod shells, five bullet proof jackets, three live ammunition of M20, two live ammunition of .38, five rubber bullets, two ammunition of 12 bore and five anti riot shells.
The recovered arms and ammunition were seized on the spot by observing necessary formalities and later handed over to Thoubal Dam police station.
Earlier in a series of operations between March 22 and March 25, security forces recovered 32 weapons, Improvised Devices (IEDs), grenades, ammunition and war-like stores from various districts in the valley and hills.
The operations in Kakching, Imphal West, Senapati, Imphal East and Bishnupur were carried out by Indian Army and Assam Rifles formation under Spear Corps in coordination with Manipur Police, CRPF, BSF, and ITBP, said PRO IGAR(South) in a statement.
From Moltinchan in Kakching district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a joint operation on March 22 and recovered five weapons comprising one improvised mortar, one 0.303 Rifle, one modified Carbine Machine Gun, two Single Barrel Rifle ammunition and war like stores.
From Henbung in Senapati district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police, on March 22, recovered four Bolt Action Rifles.
From Sagolmang in Imphal East district, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police, on March 22, recovered two Single Bore Barrel Rifles, two improvised mortars, ammunition and war like stores.
From Phaikot in Senapati district , on March 23, Indian Army recovered three weapons comprising one INSAS Rifle, one .303 Rifle and one Self Loading Rifle (SLR) .
From Imphal East district, Assam Rifles, on March 23, recovered two weapons comprising one 2" mortars and one 0.32 mm pistol.
From area Seijang in Imphal East on March 24, Indian Army recovered seven weapons comprising one 0.22 Rifle, one 12 Bore Double Barrel Rifle, four 51 mm Mortars and one 9mm Pistol.
From Dumpi in Bishnupur district on March 24, Indian Army recovered seven weapons comprising one AK 47 Rifle, one 12 Bore Rifle, one .303 Rifle, one Double Barrel Rifle, one modified rifle and two improvised mortars.
The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police.
These coordinated efforts by security forces highlight their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Manipur, said the Assam Rifles.
