Keen retrospection needed, says PREPAK-II

Imphal, March 25 2025:

Contd from previous issue

The hills, lakes, and rivers of Kangleipak have been scarred by deforestation for poppy cultivation, destruction of cultural heritage and the pollution of ecosystem by policies favoring exploitationissues that remain unresolved, Aheiba Angom continued.

If Myanmar's conflict spills over, India would not hesitate to abandon Kangleipak as its frontier.

The greatest goal of those who annexed Kangleipak is to suppress its identity entirely, read the PREPAK Interim Council Chairman's statement.

Questioning if India forcibly opened the Eastern Gate to unleash foreign forces, it went on to ask if India has abandoned this India-Myanmar region to geopolitical games just as they did during the 1962 Indo-China War.

India's various think tanks have expressed in their analyses the view that "if a new warlike situation arises in the India-Myanmar region, the northeastern part of India, particularly the Siliguri Corridor, could be severed at any moment, making it impossible to connect Tripura to Bengal through any other route" .

"Our land has been under the control of India for 76 years, unable to preserve its own identity or progress independently", it said.

Kangleipak has been kept as a buffer region to protect India.

This is why today's generation must understand how "our ancestors preserved this land, defended it, and united with other free Nations in solidaritybecause a land collectively governed by its people under one desire cannot be separated by any other force" .

"Rather than relying solely on a regular army, we must have a community militia with greater numbers so that our youth can live with dignity through the strength of an armed force, without needing to compromise again", it said.

Kangleipak has faced numerous challenges and has emerged as a land striving for unity in Western Southeast Asia.

"The idea of aligning our land's sovereignty with its historical legacy is a sacred duty our forefathers entrusted to us.

This duty is being upheld today by PREPAK and its armed wing, the Red Army (RA)", Aheiba Angom asserted.

Asserting that the Red Army's unwavering resolve strengthens the revolutionary path of the future, the PREPAK Interim Council Chairman said that the right of the Kanglei people to reclaim their land's sovereignty is a goal the Red Army (RA) pursues through its actions.

In numerous battles against the Indian armed forces, they have sacrificed much for this land, enduring losses while remaining united with other revolutionary forces.

The Red Army advances with discipline and unity in the revolutionary struggle, ensuring that neither the might of Indian armed forces nor foreign interference can halt their progress toward reclaiming the lost sovereignty and achieving revolutionary victory, read the statement.

It added that the Red Army salutes all those who have made the supreme sacrifice in the course of the revolutionary struggle as well as all those who are languishing in prisons for the hallowed cause.
