Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh has categorically stated that the people still don't know the core issue of the current crisis and signs of people acting on emotions are still visible.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a prize distribution ceremony of the 21st Shumang Leela Ningtham Kumhei 2024-25 held at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound.
N Biren stated that there would be unity once the people thoroughly understand the crisis.
He said that Shumang Leela is one of the most effective media of spreading education and knowledge among the people.
Shumang Leela helped in saving many lives by spreading awareness at the height of the Covid pandemic, he said.

A Leela based on the current crisis would be premiered today, Biren said before congratulating all the Shumang Leela artistes.
Shumang Leela is an art form which has its own unique identity, he said.
He also announced that an amount of Rs 2.50 crore has been earmarked for reconstruction of the existing Shumang Leela Shanglen.
The spot where the Shumang Leela Shanglen stands is Government land but the Government is ready to lease it out for a maximum period in the interests of the Shumang Leela fraternity, he said.
The ceremony was also attended by many Ministers, MP Leishemba Sanajaoba and MLAs.
Later, a Shumang Leela titled '3rd May' was shown.
Recipients of the 21st Shumang Leela Ningtham Kumhei 2024-25 prizes included eminent theatre director Dr Ratan Thiyam.
Dr Ratan Thiyam was presented the Pidonnu Award.
Shanti Award went to senior actor A Inakhuba, Moirangningthou Award to MSSLC former president Purnimashi Leima, Gojen Award to K Tomba, Gulamchat Ideal Award to James Heikrujam, Popular Award to Kh Dhakeshwar, Oja Bori Award to Momon Goswami, N Birendrakumar Award to Okram Kunjo, BJC Sharma Award to Th Ramani Devi and Babu Yaimbi Award to Nabadwip Ningthouja.
