Guwahati, November 23 2012:
Chairman of the UNLF, RK Meghen alias Sanayaima has saluted all the communities of Manipur on the 48th anniversary of the outfit.
Speaking to media persons while being produced before the NIA Court at Guwahati along with 14 other cadres of the outfit, Meghen said that on the 48th anniversary of the party, he as the chairman of would like to extend his message to the people of Manipur.
Greeting the people, Meghen said that after Manipur merged with the Union of India, the age old heritage of the land and people have been eroded considerably.
Elaborating, he said that in the 63 years under India, ethnic divides amongst the different communities of Western South East Asia (WeSEA) have been drawn up sharply.
This has inevitably led to conflicts of interest amongst the communities in the region and in Manipur resulting in uncertainty.
The need of the time is to uproot the main cause for the divisions together, he added.

Under the divide and rule policy of India, the people have been classified into classes as scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes etc leading to antagonism amongst the communities of the region, alleged Meghen.
The Chairman further said that campaign for individual rights in a multi ethnic state will result in conflicts and continued that the Government of India will never bring development and peace in Manipur.
Conflicts and disputes are the result of being under an alien rule, alleged Meghen and added that as long as such a regime continues, peace would elude the people and place.
Respect for the political and cultural identity of each other and understanding the imperative of a symbiotic relationship between the different communities of WeSEA is the need of the hour.
A collective and common administration with autonomy at all level is the model mooted by the leader of the outfit.
Meghen further said that domestic problems should be resolved by dialogues without the interference and influence from outside.
On the anniversary of the outfit, the Chairman also called upon all the communities of Manipur including Naga, Kuki, Meitei, Komrem, Meitei-Pangal and all others to unite and work together to bring development for all.
