Imphal, April 23 2013: Raising strong objection against the assertion of the All Tribal Students' Union (ATSUM) that Molnoi village of Pallel is a part of Thoubal district and not Chandel district, the Thadou Students' Association (TSA) Chandel district has today averred that it is very much a part of Chandel district.

Reiterating that construction of FCI Godown at Molnoi is most feasible, a statement issued by information and publicity secretary of TSA, Thangboi Mate urged all concerned to extend cooperation towards the realisation of the proposed FCI Godown construction at Molnoi.

Lambasting ATSUM for its alleged irresponsible statement to the press on the matter, the TSA contended that the ATSUM statement on the matter shows that it is a tool for some vested interests.

The ATSUM had stated that as Molnoi village falls under Thoubal district there cannot be any justification on the part of the Government for constructing a godown for the Chandel people in another district.

Further, the TSA said that ATSUM cannot stand for the causes of the tribal as it is formed only by three tribes among the 30 recognised tribes in the State.

It also warned that TSA Chandel would never entertain any ATSUM activity within its jurisdiction should ATSUM continue to work for a one-sided interest.
