50 hurt in truck mishap

CCpur, February 22 2017:
A mini-truck conveying BJP supporters who were due to attend an election rally at Singngat sub-divisional headquarters here today met an accident near the border village of Behiang leaving at least fifty people with varying degrees of injury.
Sources said that the fateful truck was heading for the rally site from Pangmual village via Suangphuh and Behiang when it met the mishap at around 8.45 am on a hill slope.
Sixty year-old Paokhomang, who suffered no visible injury but was feeling uneasy walking told The Sangai Express at the district hospital that their fate could have been worse had the truck advanced on the other side of road and plunged down the mountain cliff.
The 407 truck had bumped a roadside wall before it fell on the road.
