Many extend support to bandh call

Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN), All Manipur Students' Transporters Association (AMSSTA), Macha Leima and Muslim Council, Moreh have endorsed the 24-hour bandh, clamped by Committee for Kozuri and Dzuko Land Boundary Resolution (CKDLBR) and other civil society organisations against the encroachment at Dzuko Valley and Kozuri area of Senapati district by an organisation based in Nagaland.
The bandh would be effective from the midnight of May 22 .
Maintaining that the bandh is justifiable, All Manipur School Students' Transporters Association in a statement said that they would suspend service on the day.
CKDLBR Convener B Neli had recently drawn the attention of the State Government to the matter of Southern Angami People's Organisation's encroachment in Dzuko Valley.
He said that the Nagaland based organisation had started constructing a road in Kozuri area using heavy machinery including earth movers and excavators since October last year.
The construction of the road from Khuzama to Dzuko-Kozuri was constructed under protection of armed guards, he added.
