Mao folks present vegetables to RIMS, JNIMS

Mao people have showered their gratitude and satisfaction on the doctors and staff of both JNIMS and RIMS for successfully treating two COVID-19 patients by presenting home grown vegetables.
Together with PHED Minister L Dikho, representatives of Mao Council, Mao Naga Women Welfare Association and Mao Students Union presented assorted vegetables to the Directors of JNIMS and RIMS today.
Speaking at the occasion, L Dikho said that the people of Mao are deeply concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic as Mao is a main centre for screening people and there is also a quarantine centre.

People of Mao felt very proud and jubilant on learning that RIMS and JNIMS have successfully treated COVID-19 patients, L Dikho said.
JNIMS Director Prof Th Bhimo said that they were able to treat the COVID-19 patients successfully by the grace of the Almighty.
Pointing out that the fatality rate due to COVID-19 is still very high in developed countries like the USA and Britain, Dr Bhimo urged all the people to take up all precautionary and preventive measures.
Dr Th Bhimo as well as RIMS Director Prof A Santa expressed sincere appreciation to all the people of Mao for their warm gesture and gifts.
On the other hand, the Mao Business Women Union (Mao keithel vendors) donated Rs 10,000 to the Chief Minister's COVID-19 Relief Fund today at the initiative of the Mao Imphal Market Coordination Committee.
The amount contributed by the Mao Business Women Union was handed over to the Chief Minister by its president Kapani Mao and secretary Ashaini Mao together with Mao Imphal Market Coordination Committee convenor Khuraijam Athouba and chairman Besii.
CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam was also present when the amount was handed over to the Chief Minister.
Later, the Mao Business Women Union presented vegetables they brought from Mao to many CSOs namely; IPSA, IPAK, ACOAM-Lup, Kanglamei, KIL, CLK and KSA at a simple function held at the Khoyathong office of KSA.
The CSOs reciprocated by presenting cooking oil, common salt, rice and dal.
Khuraijam Athouba and Besii said that the Mao vendors and the valley-based CSOs were exchanging edible items with a common understanding that the hill people and the plain people should share both happy moments as well as hard times.
They said that many hill people and organisations and their valley counterparts have been helping each during this testing time since many days back.
They added that hill people and plain people would help each other during hard times in future too.
