New Delhi, October 20 2012:
In the follow up of the current ongoing process for a settlement of the negotiation between the Naga rebels and the GoI, Manipur state Chief Minister is currently camping in Delhi.
With major claims laying upon Manipur state in the negotiation and the subsequent probable solution thereof, the state Chief Minister has also been reportedly consulted by the Union Home Minister recently.
This present visit therefore is a crucial step from the Chief Minister who is expected to meet the Union Home Minister for an intense discussion and deliberation over the negotiation.
O Ibobi Singh is believed to have given his opinion and suggestion to the central government for an alternative option in the hills of Manipur.
According to official sources, there has been no meeting between the CM and Home Minister, which is not likely to happen given weekend holiday.
As it stands, amendment to the Indian constitution, in terms of more autonomy is one of the proposal in the progress of talks between the NSCN(IM) and the GoI.
The said proposal is also one of the key 'negotiation' point by the Nagaland state assembly led by Chief Minister Nephiu Rio who met the Union Home Minister and other key political parties earlier in the week.
The same is also expected to be the key figure of discussion with Ibobi as well.
