Imphal, September 20 2012:
Alleging that the involvement of anti-social elements seen at all the surrender drama scripted by the Government are being used to throw and plant bombs on monetary demands, the proscribed UNLF has asserted that such elements are being used to dilute the 'liberation movement' .
In a statement issued to the press today, the outfit alleged that the security forces and the 'puppet Government' have been working over time to arm these elements and give them a free run to kill, abduct and terrorise the people to launch a proxy war against the 'revolutionary movement'.
The proxy war is gaining momentum with each passing day, it alleged further.
The number of fake encounters in the last two weeks or so is ample proof of such a proxy war being launched, said the statement.
Giving examples, UNLF alleged that on August 28 S Tongpu was killed in a staged encounter at Senjam Chirang in connection with the abduction of the accountant of Mangalam plywood factory, Radhakrishna.
Referring to media reports on the basis of the statements given by the son of the deceased, the outfit said that S Tongpu was called out by a surrenderee staying at the AR post at the Spinning Mills.
The Assam Rifles also tried to lure Khuplathang Kom, the son of the deceased on the pretext of providing him gainful employment, alleged the outfit and recalled him saying that two more young men at the AR camp.
The two young men are from Leimaram.
The outfit further said that though the police claimed that T Romeo and L Rajeswar, both killed in an alleged staged encounter at Khokan village in Senapati district on September 5, were KCP (MC) members, family members have refuted the police version.
Again on September 16 Takhellambam Govin was killed in a fake encounter at Yourbung Kharasom under Lamlai police, alleged the outfit and added that Govin was a surrenderee and staying with the Assam Rifles.
He was also called out by another surrenderee Aken.
Further alleging that there a number of surrenderees being housed at Assam Rifles camps under the pretext of providing them jobs and money, the outfit said that such people are used and then later dumped off by tagging them as undergrounds.
All these instances of killings and violence are being perpetrated by the security forces and the 'puppet Government' to keep the people apart from the 'revolutionary movement' alleged the outfit.
Today under the machinations of Ministers, MLAs, police commandos and officials in cahoots with the security forces many people have been seduced by money and glitz, alleged UNLF and added that now the 'puppet Government' has come to the stage of mocking the 'revolutionary outfits' to come to the negotiating table with promises of material gain.
All these ploys would not work, asserted the UNLF and urged the people to stay united and stand up for the true cause.
