MSAD condemns MRVT and MW Bill

Imphal, March 20 2015 : Manipur Students' Association, Delhi (MSAD) has condemned introduction of the MRVT&MW Bill, which allegedly provides privilege to outsiders in contradiction to the demand of an Act to protect the indigenous people.

In a statement, MSAD said that such an act of bypassing the demand of the people by elected representatives indicates suspension of democracy and disrespect of people.

The State Government has shown its true colours of authoritarianism and tyranny by imposing prohibitory orders in Imphal, the statement said.

In such a situation, people must not fall into the Government's plot to ignite communal conflict between indigenous people and non-locals, the statement added.

At the same time, people of the State must take up all modes of democratic movement to retain the rights of indigenous people, the statement added.
