Devabrata clarifies on Imphal Times news report
Says he was talking at his private capacity and does not represent the High Level Committee

Imphal, June 18 2018: In connection to the news report appeared in this newspaper in its yesterday' s edition under the headline 'Congress Breaks silence over the development at MU', spokesperson and General Secretary of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today clarified that the conversation he had with Imphal Times was at his private capacity and in friendly term.

Devabrata Singh said that, he was not speaking to Imphal Times representatives not as representatives of the Congress Party Committee formed on the development at MU .

Devabrata further said that during the conversation he intended to say that 'the charges against the VC must be having prima facie evidences, since the charges are leveled by legitimate bodies of the Manipur University' .

Secondly , he said that the committee shall be meeting all stakeholders concern with the Manipur University and that the Party may take up the issue to the highest authority to end the impasse at Manipur University .

Devabrata was the Convenor of the High Level Committee and meeting with the MUTA with them was based on source with Imphal Times and not from the Congress general secretary.
