Mangi lambasts Congress Govt

Imphal, May 18 2016: Former Minister N Mangi has said that Congress has now been rejected by the people due to involvement of many of its leaders in various scams.

He was speaking at a one-day political convention cum formation of polling station level committee under the aegis of BJP Kumbi Mandal at Saiton Litanpokpi community hall today.

Saying that Congress would not return to power in Assam, the seasoned politician who has recently joined the saffron party expressed confidence that BJP would win majority in the upcoming Imphal Municipal Corporation election as well.

Speaking at the function, Wangoo Gram Panchayat Pradhan N Sanatomba accused Kumbi AC MLA S Bira of misusing his local area development fund.

Sanatomba said that the MLA had withdrawn funds without executing works at various localities.

BJP Kumbi Mandal Programme Coordination Committee president Sanjoy Ahanthem said that corruption is the backbone of the Congress party.

Many families have been reeling under economic hardships as the Congress Government had collected huge amount of money from the public in the recruitment of Government employees.

Although, the Government has taken Rs 5-6 lakhs from each candidate, results for the Manipur police Constable recruitment examination are yet to be declared, he said.

Saiton GP Pradhan S Shamungou and Wangoo Terakhong GP Pradhan P Baleshwar also attended the function.
