KPKBs, mobile sale units opened

As announced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in his X account, Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandars (KPKB) have been opened to the public from today.
Amit Shah said that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is launching an initiative to provide commodities to the common people of Manipur at reasonable prices from Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar (KPKB).
The existing 21 KPKBs will be opened to common people from September 17 .
There will also be an addition of 16 new bhandars-eight in the valley and the remaining eight in the hill areas, Amit Shah said.
Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar (KPKB) is a welfare scheme launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in 2006 to benefit serving and retired police personnel and their families.
Meanwhile, in view of the recent surge in prices of essential commodities, the State Government through the Department of CAF&PD has set up 19 mobile sale units for availing essential commodities including potato, onion, pulses (masoor & chana dal), cooking oil, salt and rice under OMSS(D) to the general public from September 15 onwards.
The said units have been set up at Khwairamband Bazar, Kwakeithel and Lamphel Sanakeithel in Imphal West; Lamlong, Lamlai and Kongba in Imphal East; Kumbi, Moirang, Ningthoukhong, Bishnupur and Nambol in Bishnupur; Kakching, Wabagai and Sugnu/Waikhong in Kakching; Yairipok, Thoubal and Lilong in Thoubal; Jiribam district headquarters and Churachandpur district headquarters.
Further, seven more mobile sale units will also be opened at Senapati, Kangpokpi, Noney, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal, Ukhrul and Kamjong from September 18, 2024.In line with the MHA's initiative, 10 BSF KPKB Centres have been opened to the public from today, according to a press release issued by PRO, Hqs Special DG (EC), BSF.
They are 131 Bn Hqs (Sugnu PS), 107 Bn BSF (DC complex, Kakching), 10 Bn BSF (Wangjing Tekcham Leikai), 29 Bn BSF (Lamlai PS), 93 Bn BSF (Leikun, Chandel), 10 Bn BSF KPKB Centre at Loktak, 40 Bn BSF (Mahadev, Ukhrul), 29 Bn BSF KPKB (Koirengei), STC BSF (Churachandpur) and BSF KPKB, Moreh.
These KPKB centres offer essential items such as groceries, clothing and household goods at reasonable prices to the people of Manipur, it added.
