Senapati lad set for Rubaru finale

Senapati, July 17 2022: Banner Lanamai James from Senapati is all set to compete in India's biggest pageant for men-Rubaru Mr India as he has been selected as a finalist for the event scheduled later this year.

Banner Lanamai James, son of Karaiba Pungdina and (L) James Lanamai from Poumai Naga tribe of Senapati is 22 years old and stands 6 feet tall.

He is a freelance model and at the same time is pursuing his Master's degree in English literature and linguistics.

Banner Lanami James's selection is a significant event in the pageant's history as he will be vying for a back-to-back victory for Manipur at the Rubaru Mr.India competition.

In the previous edition, Songashim Rungsung was named as the winner of this prestigious competition held in Goa.

It is learned that Banner went through six rounds before getting selected for the National finale.

During the six rounds, applicants were reportedly judged on various parameters like confidence, personality, communication skills, fitness and many more.

Over 30,000 candidates from all over India applied for the contest.

Banner James was one of the very few candidates who passed all the rounds.

Rubaru Mr India is India's biggest and oldest running pageant for men and this year's event is going to be its 18th edition.

The winners of the event will represent India at various international beauty pageants.
