Imphal, July 17 2015 :
Propelled by the high sale and demand by the people, the Mao vendors affected by the Southern Angami People's Organisation (SAPO) threat today said they will discontinue their trade at Nagaland and now shift their business and trade to Imphal.
A total of 25 trucks loaded with goods produced at Mao that reached Imphal today were received by eager shoppers at Khwairamband market.
The sales of the vendors today rocketed to approximately Rs 7 lakh as people came out in large number to shop for Eid and Ratha-Yatra celebration tomorrow.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Asifro Mao, a vendor in the temporary market, said the attitude of Nagaland towards the Mao villagers was most unfortunate and unwanted.

Mao vendors who had been selling their produce at the neighbouring State Nagaland were turned out overnight after the recent dispute between the two States over Dzuko Valley.
The affected vendors are temporarily accommodated at Nagamapal through a joint effort by civil organisations.
Asifro, while thanking the civil organisations concerned and people at Imphal for extending their support, said they will not resume their trade at Kohima.
She said the vendors desire to establish a permanent trade in Imphal.
"We will not go back to selling our products at Nagaland.
We have long been sharing our produce with them but now it is time we turn our focus to the valley.
We want to continue our trade in Imphal for long," Asifro stated.
She also appealed to the State Government to set up a permanent market for Mao vendors in Imphal at the earliest.
The temporary market at Nagamapal was earlier planned to open every Monday.
However, increasing demand from the people and the traders' urge to sell more goods have brought a change in the earlier design.
Now, the Mao market is open to the people for three days in a week.
