INDIA Bloc to meet Uikey, CM

The State unit of INDIA Bloc has decided to meet Governor Anusuiya Uikey and Chief Minister N Biren Singh to discuss the situation in Manipur with special emphasis on Jiribam.
In a statement, the bloc of 10 political parties said that the resolution to meet the two personalities was taken during a meeting convened at Congress Bhavan today.
AAP, AIFB, CPI, CPI (M), INC, JD (U), NCP, RSP and SS (UBT) are the constituent members of INDIA Bloc, Manipur unit.
It continued that they have sought an appointment with the Governor and the Chief Minister through the relevant authorities.
The bloc also resolved to urge the Governor and the Chief Minister to deploy adequate State forces in Jiribam and restore normalcy in the district as well as the State.
Notably, Jiribam has been on the boil since June 6 last after one Soibam Sarat-kumar was killed by suspected Kuki militants.
Former Chief Minister O Ibobi, MP elect Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, CWC member Gaikhangam, deputy CLP leader K Ranjit Singh, senior CPO leader Dr M Nara, Ksh Shanta Singh of CPI (M) and Dr Kh Loken Singh of JD (U) attended the meeting which was presided by MPCC president K Meghachandra.
